Nike Air Force 1 '07

Black and white effects combine across this AF1 ‘07 to create a series of bold contrasts. The outsole begins things in black, with the lugs and star nodules around its edges featuring this powerful tone. The ringed shapes that form its grippy underside also carry this color, as does the Air lettering on the otherwise white midsole. Within the heel of this component, a pocket of Nike Air adds a springy bounce to each step, while foam cushioning pads out the rest of the foot.

Atop this solid base rests a mostly white upper made of smooth leather panels that give it a refined look. Overlays in the forefoot and rear are connected to underlaid sections in the toe box and midfoot via parallel lines of stitching, while a single band of thread runs around the rim of the eyestay. Perforations fan out across the toe box and mark the bottom of each midfoot panel to provide ventilation for the foot, before black highlights lend the shoe some intriguing aesthetic touches.

Black Nike Air text is embroidered into the heel panel and the tongue label, both of which are white. A tiny black swoosh has been sewn into the bottom end of the eyestay, just below the AF1-branded lace dubrae, which itself adds a touch of flair through its gleaming silver complexion. The inside of the shoe brings more dynamic changes in color as the mesh inner lining is white, the insole black and the Nike Air branding printed onto it white. Then, dual-layered swooshes establish further depth on the flanks, with a black underlayer framing the white leather swoosh laid over it to conclude the design with a striking tonal variation.
