Jordan 4 Retro
This Jordan 4 Retro brings back a highly desirable colorway known as Thunder whose striking contrasts make it an eye-catching sneaker. It features a chunky sole unit whose black outsole has various sections containing herringbone grip patterns, each one oriented in a different direction to offer high-quality traction underfoot. Below the forefoot, part of the outsole exhibits Tour Yellow tones, creating a powerful juxtaposition with the darker tone surrounding it, while a white Jumpman adds another more subtle variation in tone in the center of the outsole. This effect extends up into the midsole, which is black primarily around the toe and lateral flank, with a stronger presence of Tour Yellow on the heel and down the medial side. An Air unit is visible through a clear window in the heel of the midsole, thus allowing this springy feature to be viewed from the outside.
The upper is largely made of smooth black nubuck, giving it a stealthy look and a luxurious feel. This material forms panels around the forefoot, in a layer through the center of the shoe, around the collar and across the quarter. This last section has areas of Tour Yellow set behind a wide black mesh – structures that help to aerate the foot. In between these, more flashes of color can be found as Tour Yellow lace cages reside at the top and bottom of the eyestay. These contain fans of eyelets to hold the black laces, and the top ones on each side link up with black triangular wings that provide structure as they reach down the sidewalls.
Another molded piece of black material has been slotted into the gap left by the overlay that curves low around the heel, its top end shaped into a pull tab, its center hosting a white Jumpman logo. This distinctive black and white setup repeats on the insole, which is surrounded by black padded inner walls that reach up towards the puffy tongue. Tour Yellow covers the reverse of this latter feature, and there is an Air Jordan patch sewn into it. Meanwhile, its black topside is adorned with a large square label that displays one last white Jumpman silhouette above the word “Flight” in a final dash of Tour Yellow to complete this sought-after colorway.
