Jordan 4 Retro SE Craft

The premium materials found across this Jordan 4 Retro SE Craft have been decorated in a range of light tones, creating an elegant sneaker. A pale shade of gray known as Photon Dust is the most heavily used color, and it combines with three other hues on the shoe’s grippy rubber outsole. While Photon Dust covers the herringbone grip lines of the heel and the star-shaped nodes of the toe, the portion in between takes on the sneaker’s darkest color: Flat Pewter. Pale Vanilla then fills out a section beneath the forefoot, before the off-white Sail coats the smooth area below the arch of the foot. Although this last part has no tread, there is a Pale Vanilla Jumpman embossed into its center, and the rest of the outsole features omnidirectional herringbone formations to give the wearer high levels of traction as they move about.

Some elements of the outsole blend into the midsole, most notably on the toe and lateral side, where the Flat Pewter parts reach up to wrap around the front of the foot and create a curving hump on the flank. Sail-colored polyurethane makes up the rest of the supportive midsole, which has a window in the heel to present the Air cushioning placed inside it for added comfort. The upper, meanwhile, is largely coated in the light, airy tone of Photon Dust. This appealing shade of gray can be seen on the suede forefoot mudguard and the cracked leather quarter panels, as well as the smooth leather of the main overlay, which reaches from forefoot to heel, and the collar overlay too. As a Craft model, the inserts on each quarter are formed of a plush suede with a grid pattern debossed into them as opposed to the usual plastic mesh, giving the shoe an especially refined look.

More Photon Dust suede coats the frontside of the tongue, its soft material switching to a gridded pattern on its lower half to match that used on the shoe’s flanks. Its upper half displays a square Photon Dust patch with a sophisticated satin complexion and a Pale Vanilla Jumpman woven through it above the word “Flight”. The plush underside of the tongue then switches to Pale Vanilla tones, including on the Air Jordan label sewn into it. Flat Pewter returns on the inner lining and the insole, which has another Pale Vanilla Jumpman printed onto it.

Back on the outer, a small patch of Photon Dust suede highlights the lateral side of the collar, while the structural wings in front of it help to bolster the flanks in Photon Dust cracked leather. These are attached at the top to Pale Vanilla lace cages – molded TPU structures which are repeated at the bottom of the tongue. They have a certain translucence to them and each holds five eyelets to offer different options for the Photon Dust laces. The Flat Pewter heel panel has a frosted effect that also permits a little light to shine through it at the top, where it has been formed into a fan-shaped pull tab. Finally, its lower half has been embossed with a Pale Vanilla Jumpman logo to cap off this high-class Air Jordan 4 design.
