Nike Dunk Low
"Needlework"
FJ4553-133
This artfully crafted Nike Dunk Low features a collection of fine details that set it apart from other sneakers, earning it the nickname Needlework. To begin with, the rubber sole unit comes in a two-tone design. The light gray outsole has the well-known grip patterns typical of most Dunk models – concentric circles in the forefoot and lugs under the heel, with a Nike-branded section in the midfoot. While this gives the shoe heritage style and high-level traction, the Sail midsole has been filled with lightweight cushioning so that each step is both easy and comfortable.
The upper combines more light tones, firstly via the off-white Sail hue that covers its base. Visible around the back of the shoe, the midfoot and the toe box, it perfectly complements the appealing gray of the Photon Dust overlays that make up the forefoot mudguard, eyestay and rear paneling. These sections are all connected to the upper via intricately sewn lines of thread, while the attention to detail continues through the toe box as its perforations have been formed into a striking arrangement that also provides breathability across the forefoot.
Thick, durable laces made of rope-like braids tie up over the Sail tongue, which has a white patch adorning its peak with subtle Nike text embroidered into it. More creative details appear on the light gray sidewall swooshes, which are embossed with an ornamental filigree design that imbues the flanks with a graceful style. At the heel, the pair of Nike logos disappear beneath the pale gray heel panel, which itself has been decorated with elegant Nike lettering. Forming the dot on the letter “i” of this text is a glistening rhinestone, thus enhancing the feeling of glitz and glamor.
Its high-class elements extend inside the shoe as well, firstly on the plush padded inner lining, which carries Sail tones once more. Across the insole is a dapper brown hue known as Tawny, which skilfully offsets the neutral tones found on the rest of the design. Lastly, Sail branding text has been printed onto the insole in a cursive font that adds a final exquisite touch to complete this refined sneaker.
