Jordan 1 Retro Low OG

The powerfully contrasting tones found across this Jordan 1 Retro Low OG make a bold statement. Its all-leather upper is founded upon a sturdy rubber cupsole that brings together a pristine white midsole with a vibrant orange outsole. The latter color, which, like the shoe, is known as Starfish, covers all of the grippy indentations that serve to steady the wearer as they walk, from the star-shaped nodes on the toe through the ringed patterns under the forefoot to the lugs below the heel. Meanwhile, the midsole has both Air and foam cushioning, thus offering the wearer maximum comfort as they move.

On the upper, vivid Starfish tones can be seen once more on the leather overlays in the forefoot and the heel, as well as along the eyestay that sits atop the foot. Beneath these durable layers, white leather resides, firstly in the toe box, whose lines of perforations ventilate the foot, then across the midfoot panels, which taper a little towards the heel. The soft fabric of the tongue is also white, and a Starfish label has been sewn into it at the top. Nike Air branding beams from its surface in white – a tonal setup that appears in the reverse order on the insole, which has orange text on a white background. Rising up through the inner lining above this comfortable underfoot material is a bright orange mesh, thus providing padded comfort around the ankle.

Back on the outer, black laces secure the foot while also providing an additional variation in color, with more black details following elsewhere on the design. One eye-catching example of this is to be found on the Starfish heel panel, whose orange exterior hosts a set of Air Jordan Wings in black. This section slightly overlaps with a heel counter in the same tone before a final element of dynamism adorns the flanks.
